I'm a lady in her 60's with grown sons and grand children. Also hang in there, hang tight, Hi Ena C, I'm also in my 60' and have never joined a group before. I love classical music too, plus of course being an old Elvis fan and of a certain age enjoy that era music. Retired - all of a sudden I went from being the office junior to mature aged person! Live in a rented retirement apartment and do have lovely neihbours. I live in Wales am a widow,would love to have friends to chat too.
Trying new things and joining clubs, societies and other groups is a great way to get out there and meet new people, but if you live in a rural area, have restricted mobility or don’t have access to the right transportation or opportunities to socialise in your community, it can be more difficult to connect with others in your age group.
Particularly for over 50s and 60s, the internet is a great way to combat loneliness and meet new friends.
